Nowadays, it seems everyone from celebrities to young children is wearing charity symbols - wristbands, ribbons and, in Britain, even red clown's noses.
Some say these are a great way to raise awareness and money for good causes, but others think they reduce serious issues, such as cancer, to fashion gimmicks.
What do you think?

Now not, but before, these bracelets became fashionable, people didnt use for the donation.
But not everyone.
In my opinion I tink some people buy this wristbands, for good causes, and aid. But a lot of people in general teenagers, wears because this wristbands are fashion.
I believe that wristbands, ribbons and charitys symbols are not always worn for the cause they represent. Most of the teenagers wear them becsuse they are fashionable. I suppose that people who wear T-shirts for charities with big letters on them really wear them to support a particular cause, but when people wear bracalets or ribbons you don't really know what they stand for. People just wear them as another accessory!!!
PD: COLOUR your website it's dull!! PEACE & LOVE
Jose, I'm very proud of my blog, and I love these colours. Do your really think it's dull?
My opinion is that quite a lot of people buy these wristbands for a good cause. But the majority of teenagers they buy them because they have become in fashion, and not specially for a good cause.
It's good use fashion in this way, but i hate this type of fashions because the only wish is make money...
I agree with Xavier Plana. In the past, people wore these charity symbols, mostly bracelets, because they were fashionable. Nowadays, adults are more aware of these matters. The important thing is to raise the maximum amount of money. It doesn't matter why they buy them, although it would be better if awareness was risen at the same time.
PD: I agree with Xaxi de Fotoló xD these colours are boring :)
I think that the intention of them persons make this wristbands are good, but the marketing to turn this wristbands in a fashionable absurd moda.In the first the people know the cause about the wristbands but later more people don’t know the cause of this.
I think the idea is really good, because if the people don't buy the wristbands, ribbons etc... for their symbol in fact it doesn't matter, the important is that the people pay for it and the destination of that money is very useful.
Evidently if the people buy it for the symbol and is concient about it is better, but the important is to help and raisse money!
so I agree with Raqeul and also with Xavi Plana, because now adays the wristbands aren't in fashion, but surely there will be other things and fashions charities!
I believe that initially I was for a good reason but then they turned in a mode. But the purpose was a charitable reason. :)
I agree with the others, but often do those things to make money.
All opinions can be good, depends on the viewpoint of each person.
:)
I think that most of teenagers don't know charity and poorness are, they're only worried about posh things like mobile phone and wii...
People buy things that are fashionable even though not to be charity.
PD: This issue is bored to me, Why do't we talk about contemporary art??? XDDDD

I agree with Jose, and I think too that more of the campaings are falses, perhaps only the 30% is for charity and the other benefits are for the organization who do the campaing. This is the world...
